We are continuing to work with Coll & Tiree Vets, as well as TRD and the local branch of the NFU to find a new vet when Anne and Mark retire in the summer.
Anne and Mark have commissioned a video to advertise the practice. It will be aimed at vets and designed to show them what life as a working vet in Tiree is like. They will shortly be heading off to film in Coll.
As soon as the video is ready, the advertising will begin.
The practice will be advertised in leading veterinary publications, as well as through other industry channels. That might not be enough, so we are asking you all to support us in sharing the video as far and wide as you can.
It is critical, not just for crofters, but also for pet owners, that a new vet is found.
In other news, we have engaged a part-time consultant to help us look for funding, and prepare a funding bid with a view to converting the Cobbled Cow into a practice. That is something which will take time. An incoming vet might have strong opinions about the idea, so we are trying to balance the timing of any decision! We are fortunate the existing premises are going to continue to be temporarily available to any new vet.
