Tiree Energy Assessment Scheme (TEAS) Launches

We’re excited to announce the launch of the Tiree Energy Assessment Scheme (TEAS), a project designed to improve the energy efficiency of our island’s housing stock, in line with the goals outlined in our Community Development Plan.

Thanks to funding from Argyll & Bute Council’s Supporting Communities Fund, we’ll be providing 30 Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) to households who self-report spending over 10% of their income on fuel bills and whose properties are poorly insulated.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gather accurate data on the condition of Tiree’s housing stock -something we’ve long suspected to be in need of improvement but haven’t yet been able to evidence.

We’ll use this information to move forward with our aim of improving the existing housing across Tiree, helping reduce energy bills and carbon impact over the long term.

We’re also looking forward to offering:

💡 Quick Tips: Share simple, practical advice to help reduce energy bills.

🛠️ Energy Efficiency Improvements: Connect eligible households with funding opportunities via Home Energy Scotland.

The TEAS project has been made possible through the support of Argyll & Bute Council and Community Energy Scotland.

Keep an eye out for our call for volunteers to participate in this project!

PS. What’s the Gaelic for heat? Teas! (See what we did there?) It’s pronounced “chess”.
