In their words:
Tiree Makery has been about 18 months in the making… a collaborative project between 5 friends who all live here on the Isle of Tiree. All passionate about art, making and community, we wanted to work together to create a new space for Tiree – a micro arts centre with a sustainable business model. And so came Tiree Makery – a community interest company and a new home for creativity in Tiree. Utilising each of our skills and different backgrounds, from art, design, film, social practice, community development and joinery – each of the directors will contribute to the running, management and development of this space, and we hope to welcome lots of people through our doors to shop, make and see for years to come!
Getting a business unit has enabled us to create this space and start our new Community Interest Company, thanks to everyone who has come to say hello and support us so far!
We hope to see you soon!
