Tiree Community Development Trust is starting work on a new Community Development Plan, which will provide a vision for the Trust’s work for the next 5 years (2022-2027). It’s important that we hear from members of the community about what life is currently like on Tiree, and what could make it better. Thank you for all of your contributions to the community survey – we received over 240 submissions!

Community Consultation Event, An Talla, Saturday 14th May 2022

The community consultation event will be an open and inclusive space for everyone to learn a bit more about the Trust’s work, meet our staff and directors, and to have some conversations about what you want to see in Tiree’s future. We encourage voices from all sections of the community to come together and participate. These conversations will ensure that the new Community Development Plan reflects the ambitions and priorities of the whole community.

Come along to An Talla on Saturday 14th May for a cuppa and a piece of cake, and share your thoughts on  what life is like on Tiree, and what could make it better. Drop in at any time for a chat or join us for our community-led roundtable conversation event from 3 – 4pm.

The roundtable conversation will be split into tables to encourage discussion on the community’s top priorities. Help us to understand these key issues and how we can work together to make Tiree a thriving community.

If the roundtable conversation isn’t for you, there will be plenty of other ways to have your say, including interactive activities and anonymous suggestion boxes!

There will be youth beach games (weather permitting) with our youth worker Willie, and of course a raffle – something for everyone!

The brilliant Aisling’s Kitchen will be providing free hot drinks and cakes.

10.00 – 11.30 AM Quiet Drop in Session

This session is a designated “quiet time” for those who wish to use it. A distraction-free and calm environment to come along and enjoy some tea and cake and share your views. This period will have restricted numbers for those worried about Coronavirus. Please let us know if you would like to attend this session, or require assistance to attend (we can provide transport for you or someone else you know). Below is a summary of how we’ll work together to write our new Community Development Plan, and an update on the progress we’ve made in delivering the previous Community Growth Plan (2017-2020):

Please see below for the previous Community Growth Plans

Tiree Community Development Trust is pleased to present the finalised Community Growth Plan 2017 – 2020.

The new Growth Plan is based on feedback and input from a broad spectrum of community members and groups received at various events and meetings including the 2016 Charrette Programme.

There were many success stories and achievements from the 2011 – 2016 Growth Plan and also some challenges and learning points. We aim to use all of these experiences to deliver, and support others in the community to deliver, some key projects which will make the most of our current resources, benefit the whole community and provide slow sustainable growth, reversing the decline in population.
