{"id":12694,"date":"2024-08-12T17:01:03","date_gmt":"2024-08-12T16:01:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tireetrust.org.uk\/?p=12694"},"modified":"2024-08-21T14:38:24","modified_gmt":"2024-08-21T13:38:24","slug":"your-climate-action-group-needs-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tireetrust.org.uk\/gd\/your-climate-action-group-needs-you\/","title":{"rendered":"Buidhean Cl\u00ecomaid \u00d9r"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\">Following our climate events with Science Ceilidh, folks had the idea of setting up a Community Climate Action Group. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\">We are excited to have succeeded in getting \u00a32,500 from Argyll &amp; Bute Council through the Supporting Communities Fund to help set up and run the group, along with some initial priority actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\">The Trust will be helping to get the group off the ground, but the plan is that it will run itself &#8211; with a focus on practical projects and local action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\">The first step is to get the group up and running to take forward some of the great ideas that people came up with at the Climate event &#8211; and new ones which will appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\">Some of the proposed actions in our funding bid included:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list eplus-wrapper eplus-styles-uid-144e3b\">\n<li class=\"eplus-wrapper\">Improving parking signage to protect fragile coastal areas and prevent further erosion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"eplus-wrapper\">Replanting marram grass and other nature-based approaches<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"eplus-wrapper\">Community workshops and events<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"eplus-wrapper\">Working with the High School Eco Group<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\">The first meeting will be on Weds 4 Sept at 7pm in the Trust Office where we will be unveiling the wonderful map that was generated from the Science C\u00e8ilidh work!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\">Post-d: <a href=\"mailto:admin@tireetrust.org.uk\" class=\"ek-link\">admin@tireetrust.org.uk<\/a> if you want to let us know you are coming!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo eplus-wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Tiree Community Climate Event\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/990093479?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Following our climate events with Science Ceilidh, folks had the idea of setting up a Community Climate Action Group.
