Windfall Fund Awards – 2020 | January – December

Detailed below are successful applicants:

  • Tiree Hockey Club received £573 from the SET Fund towards a Hockey training experience on the mainland. (withdrawn due to Covid-19 pandemic – this award was not claimed).
  • Tiree Community Development Trust (Gaelic Development Project) received £257 from the SET Fund towards a Gaelic ski trip.
  • Tiree High School received £304 from the SET Fund towards the cost of a trip to Paris for school pupils.
  • Screen Argyll received £950 from the Support Fund towards the cost of running a project with Tiree High School to learn about wildlife and create a film. (withdrawn due to Covid-19 pandemic – this award was not claimed).
  • Tiree Medical Practice received £5,730 from the Investment Fund towards the cost of purchasing a blood analysing machine for Tiree Surgery.
  • Tiree Community Development Trust (Tiree Ranger Service) received £2,400 from the Support Fund towards the cost of producing an illustrated children’s story book, about Tiree’s special bumblebee – The Great Yellow Bumble Bee.
  • An Iodhlann received £800 from the Community Owned Assets Fund towards the cost of building maintenance – painting and small repairs.
  • Tiree Wave Classic received £3,000 from the Support Fund towards the cost of running the 2020 events – Tiree Wave Classic 2020.
  • Tiree Rural Development received £1,400 from the Support Fund towards the cost of getting a valuation for the land Tiree Rural Centre is situated on, with a view to purchase the land in the future.
