Tiree Renewable Energy Ltd (TREL) Update

Tilley has still not been able to produce any power since 20th December although the turbine manufacturer Enercon has scheduled a maintenance team to arrive on Tiree on Tuesday 11th February to get her turning again. It has been double trouble for Tilley – as well as having a fault in the generator which has caused the initial breakdown, the sub-sea cable linking us to Coll is also broken at the moment so once Tilley is fixed she will have to be limited from 900Kw to 50Kw output. SSE have given us a recent update on the plans to replace the damaged sub-sea cable and
are currently waiting on a weather window to 1.) bring the boat with the new cable round from the east coast of Scotland and 2.) have 3 days of calm seas to carry out the repairs.
