Serco Caledonian Ferries Consults Tiree residents

Serco’s team leading the bid for the Clyde and Hebrides Ferry Services are holding a community consultation on Tiree.  The open meeting will be held between 12pm and 4:30pm on Thursday 26th November at Tiree Community Hall. Jonathan Riley, Serco’s Bid Director said:“We really want to discuss the issues that affect Tiree. It’s important to hear first-hand how the community would like to see their service improved”. The company are in the midst of undertaking 15 open meetings at various locations served by the ferry services. The bid team have stressed the importance of meeting local residents from across the community. “We have already held some very positive sessions, everyone appears to appreciate the openness and helpful dialogue. The meetings provide us with an opportunity to discuss Serco and our other public services operations in Scotland, highlighting our 20 years success in delivering better services including our lifeline transport and maritime operations.” “Our face-to-face meetings have proved to be really valuable sessions. It is really important to us to understand exactly what individual local communities really want from their ferry provider.”  

 The CHFS contract will be awarded by Scottish Ministers to the successful bidder in May 2016 for the duration of eight years.
