Statement from Discover Tiree to our Members:
In light of the Coronavirus Epidemic and in keeping with Government advice on non-essential travel we strongly recommend that those with plans to visit Tiree do so at a later date.
Our single GP, nursing team and emergency services (many volunteers) on Tiree are already stretched dealing with the island’s own population and any additional visitors will undoubtedly add to the strain at this very demanding time.
We would urge you to please contact your clients and ask them to re book or reschedule their visit for a later date when it is safe to do so.
We cannot emphasise enough that although our small island community is resilient, it simply does not have the resources to deal with an increased population at this time.
