Coll of the Sharks: Basking Shark Festival

Coll of the Sharks is the summer festival of Basking Sharks on the Island of Coll. With the waters surrounding Tiree and Coll the main Scottish hotspot for the sharks where better to hold this festival!!! The festival will be a long weekend where a series of events surrounding the sharks is being organised. Boat trips and island tours will be run to see the sharks and other wildlife, along with a guest speaker presentation and social evening. The evening will bring locals and visitors together to the home of Scottish basking sharks! After a relaxed social gathering two presentations will be given for the evenings entertainment!

Sea Change Road Show- Tiree
The Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust will visit Tiree from 11-14th September as part of SeaChange: an education, outreach and research project which aims to promote whales, dolphins and porpoises as an important part of the natural heritage of the Hebrides.
They hope to meet with all those interested in marine mammals, and those who are employed in the whale-watch tourism sector. There will be an illustrated presentation about the natural history of Hebridean whales and dolphins and recent research findings by HWDT held at An Talla at 19:30. This is a free event and all are welcome to join! Booking not essential.
