Coronavirus Newly Self-Employed Hardship Fund CLOSING DATE 10TH JULY 20

On the 30th April 2020 the Scottish Government announced that a fund had been set up to provide a one off grant of £2,000 for the newly self-employed  who are not able to access other COVID-19 support and are now facing hardship as a result of COVID-19   The fund is administered by Argyll and Bute Council in line with eligibility criteria set by the Scottish Government. Providing applicants can meet the eligibility criteria, authorities will begin to pay out grants in early May.  Please click on […]

Small business bounce back loans

Small businesses will benefit from a new fast-track finance scheme providing loans with a 100% government-backed guarantee for lenders, the Chancellor announced (Monday 27 April).   The scheme will launch for applications on Monday 4 May. Firms will be able to access these loans through a network of accredited lenders.  businesses will be able to borrow between £2,000 and £50,000 and will be able to access the cash within days. The loan value will be worked out on 25% of the business turnover.  […]

Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme – Application process is now open

As of Monday 20th April, employers can now apply to the UK Government’s Job Retention Scheme to receive funding for furloughed employees.  This initiative will provide up to 80% of the cost of retaining staff (including apprentices) who would otherwise have had to be laid off because of the Coronavirus. Due to the lockdown period being continued for another three weeks the scheme has now been extended to cover staff salaries until the end of June 2020.   The HMRC portal to apply for the scheme can be accessed here  https://www.gov.uk/government/news/coronavirus-job-retention-scheme-up-and-running Guidance […]
