Windfall Fund Awards – 2015 | January onwards

Detailed below are successful applicants:

    • Tiree Community Business received £3,900.00 towards replacing external doors at The Island Centre.
    • An Talla received £3,000 towards purchasing tables and chairs.
    • An Talla received £2,500 towards purchasing cutlery and table clothes.
    • Vaul Golf Club received £1,281.08 to renew the fence round the golf course.
    • An Iodhlann received £10,000 towards a three year project that will open up the archives of the Campbell family at Inveraray Castle, which will provide Tiree with access to historic maps, census returns, letters, emigrant lists and estate management documents over the last 340 years.
    • Cùram Thiriodh received £24,000 towards running Tiree Resource Club for the next three years.
    • Tiree High School received £288  towards swimming lessons.
    • Tiree Resource Club received £800 towards a summer trip.
    • Tiree Beaver Scouts received £435 towards an activity day in Hynish.
    • Tiree Maritime Trust received £19,888 towards a 5 year community sailing programme.
    • Rags to Riches received £650 towards running the event ‘Rags to Riches’ 2015.
    • Fresh off the Croft received £500 as a business start-up.
    • Tiree Rural Development/Tiree Agricultural Society received £3,000 towards tent/marquee hire at this year’s Show Day.
    • Tiree Agricultural Society £2,255.80 towards the main attraction at this year’s Show Day.
    • Fèis Thiriodh received £800 towards running a 25th anniversary concert.
    • Tiree Music Festival received £3,000 towards toilets and showers at this year’s festival.
    • Tiree Music Festival received £1,200 towards purchase of community event signage.
    • Tiree Music Festival received £3,000 towards tent/marquee hire at this year’s festival.
    • Tiree Rural Development received £1,240 towards running a Sheep Shearing course on Tiree.
    • Tiree High School received £2,015 towards school trips – travel to and accommodation in Oban.
    • Bùth a’ Bhaile received £500 as a business start-up.
    • Milton Fishing Association received £1,800 towards phase one of a survey and report on Milton Harbour which will begin the process to give indicative costs for future repairs and alterations.
    • Tiree Tapestry Group received £850 towards Hand i Pocket Workshops – Creative, interactive textiles for people with dementia, their families and carers and the whole community.
    • An Iodhlann received £1,300 towards GIS (Graphical Information Systems) Mapping software training.
    • Tiree Wave Classic received £2,784 towards the promotion of this event.
    • Tiree Whisky Company Ltd received £500 as a business start-up.
    • Moira Welstead received £200 to go towards Tiree Charity Shop ‘Fact finding stage’.
    • A Bhuain received £3,000 to go towards Tiree Homecoming 2016.
