Advice to boil drinking water on the island of Tiree has been lifted. A Boil Notice was issued on Wednesday (October 7) to all properties on the island.
It was put in place on a precautionary basis after routine sampling from a service reservoir on the island identified that the water in the local network did not meet the usual microbiological standard.
In consultation with NHS Highland’s Public Health Team, customers are now being notified that it is safe for them to drink and use their water as normal.
